Chris Liciandro's 'Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Club' offers several training time slots of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for adults and kids. These classes consist of all skill levels in Gi submission grappling, situtational scenerio competition instruction, self-defense awarness, Judo, and foundational tactics.

The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Club - Street Sports has a rich history, strong verifiable lineage tied directly to one of the most recognized pioneers, Helio Gracie, and an amazing community founded by coral belt, Renato Magno that goes well beyond grappling. Chris not only dominated the bjj tournament circut when he began to climb throughout the ranks, but he has a strong reputation for being there for his students both on and off the mat. This place is not only competitive, filled with consistant training partners, packed with black belts who will all help you to improve your ground game, kid protege's, but it is an extremely family friendly jiu-jitsu dojo. CHRIS LISCIANDRO'S BIO

For over 30 years, Chris Lisciandro has been practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The California native who was born in Santa Monica and raised in Sherman Oaks, started practicing martial arts as a young child and took his first boxing lesson at the age of 12. Always looking for a new challenge, Chris took up Brazilian Jiu-jitsu in 1996, training under the renowned coral-belt, 7th Degree Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Martial Artist, Renato Magno from Sao Paul, Brazil. During his training and competitive years, Chris earned numerous championships, many of which are listed down below. In 2005, Chris received his black belt from the hands of his direct professor, Master Renato Magno. Chris is now estimated to be one of less than 300 5th degree bjj black belts still active world wide. Professor Lisciandro is fortunate to have also trained with Helio Gracie before he passed away.

Chris opened his own academy in Sherman Oaks and imparts his love of the sport by providing expert training to adults and kids of various backgrounds and occupations and most importantly, his own children. His approach is direct and positive, providing his students with the necessary patience and discipline to succeed. He believes that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and the jiu-jitsu community can benefit everyone into a healthier life style promoting sound mind, body and spirit.

With the guidence of Master Magno who helped steady Chris's bjj journey and foster key relationships, Chris Lisciandro is now one of less than 300 remaining 5th degree black belts still active world wide and who has had the privilege of training with one of the most well known Brazilian Jiu Jitsu pioneers of all time, the late great, Helio Gracie. Learning the classical foundation of what sparked and forged bjj to what it is today, Chris has infused those core foundational fundamentals into his teachings with all of his students. It is not by accident that nearly all of Chris Lisciandro's students who have earned their black belt under his tutelage, have not left his dojo. In fact, many have gone on to dominate the bjj tournment arena or become coaches themselves. Those who have moved out of California because of life situations, continue to come back and visit their original stomping grounds.

Many kids and teens who have trained at Chris Lisiciandro's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Club are still grappling to this day while many, who have become police officers, firefighters, actors, nurses, engineers, and electricians are still under the tutelage of Professor Lisciandro.
